Medical Emergency:

Are you ready for a medical emergency in the dental office? This course will review the common Medical emergencies in the dental office. Participants will understand the importance of vital signs, emergency simulation and identify essential equipment for the dental office.

Learning Objectives:

  • List ways to prepare and prevent a medical emergency.
  • Identify essential equipment for the dental office.
  • Demonstrate the management of a common medical emergency in the dental office.

Infection Control:

Participants will be presented a review of infection control in the dental setting. Updated information stated in the CDC guidelines. Standard precautions will be discussed including hand hygiene, PPE, sharps safety. Protocols for the care of waterlines and disinfection of environmental surfaces.

Learning Objective:

  • Describe the current CDC guidelines for infection control in a dental setting.
  • Explain the importance of standard precautions.
  • Identify proper protocols for instrument processing, care of dental unit waterlines, and disinfection of environmental surfaces.

Orthodontic Duties for the Dental Assistant (21071)

Hands on! This course qualifies the orthodontic dental assistant to perform those expanded orthodontic duties designated by the NH Board of Dental Examiners.

In Person: April 11, 2026 from 8:30am - 5:30pm at the NHTI campus

CEUs: 8

Prerequisites and Required Documents: RDH or ADA Graduate Dental Assistant or Completion of POI and ICP courses.

Please email your certificates/diploma to nhtiwe@ccsnh.edu  as an attachment.

Personal Protective Equipment: Students must provide their own PPE. This class requires 3-4 surgical masks, safety glasses, latex free gloves, scrubs, and a lab jacket.

PLEASE NOTE: You will not be officially registered and a seat will NOT be reserved for you until ALL pre-requisites and required documents have been received, reviewed, and approved.
