This workshop is designed for anyone who uses Google Workspace / GMail for professional, educational or personal purposes.  Participants will have hands-on experience managing and cleaning up Google Drive & GMail  focusing on organizational tools with Drive folders, subfolders, naming, sharing & color coding and moving/archiving tips.  If you are new to Google and want to learn more about GMail and Drive,  this is a great opportunity as well.

Google Workspace is an extensive collection of productivity tools. Learning the power and connection of Google tools for organization, collaboration and sharing will amp up your personal  productivity or that of your business or non profit.

Presented in a series of sessions, this comprehensive series is for new and current Google users who want to build their foundational skills. Advanced tips and tricks will be included to individualize the challenge for all user levels. Each session will cover a different app and the fundamental concepts of security, sharing and streamlining workflow.  

The goal for this course is to understand  and gain hands on experience with Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets and Slides and how these individual apps can be connected to enhance organization, collaboration and sharing in a cloud environment. Related Google services such as Chrome, Photos, Meet, Keep, Tasks, Groups  will be addressed, Participants will have the option of successfully completing follow up activities to earn  the NHTI Google Pro Microcredential.

In today's world, the individual user may be given access to a large database, and they somehow have to make sense of this huge amount of data. This used to be the responsibility of an IT team, but these days the IT teams do not have the resources to write the reports needed by each person. Many databases use the SQL language to retrieve the proper data from the large database. This course shows you how to start writing your own SQL queries.

Topics Include:

  • Select statements
  • Giving the output field a different name
  • Using Where statements to get the exact records you are looking for
  • Using Order By statements to sort the data
  • Creating Subtotals with the Group By statement
  • Introduction to joining tables together
