This training qualifies the dental assistant, according to the NH Board of Dental Examiners’ regulations. The focus is on techniques and materials used in temporary fabrication, finishing margins, and duplicating tooth anatomy. Participants will create temporary crowns and bridges on typodonts only.
Online portion: January 11 - January 25, 2025
Clinical portion: on NHTI campus - January 25, 2025
8am - 12pm

Prerequisites and required documents:
ADA Graduate Dental Assistant or Completion of the POI and ICP courses at NHTI
Personal Protective Equipment Requirements: Students must provide their own PPE. This class requires: 2 surgical masks, safety glasses, face shield, latex free gloves, scrubs, and a lab jacket.
Required materials:
- Two models of a tooth before and after crown preparation (before case goes to the lab).
- Impression trays.
- Material for 10 impressions & temporaries.
No impression material will be provided.
About the instructor:
Billie Lunt received her degree in dental hygiene from NHTI Dental Hygiene Program in Concord, New Hampshire in 1997 and her Master of Science degree in education and public health from the University of Bridgeport in 2017. She has taught dental oral anatomy, beginner to advanced clinical dental hygiene, community dental health, and ethics. Professor Billie Lunt has a weekly published podcast to support students with content related to didactic and clinical practice. She has held leadership positions in governance and currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the New Hampshire Steering Committee. She is the state representative of the Oral Health Progress and Equity Network and is an active member of the Oral Health Coalition.
