Workforce Education at NHTI

Offered as a rolling admission throughout the semester.

This course prepares dental assistants and dental hygienists to monitor nitrous oxide use during dental procedures. Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will meet the qualifications stipulated by the NH Board of Dental Examiners.

This is a hybrid course with self-paced online modules. Once the online portion is completed, the clinical portion would be scheduled with the instructor to join an on campus lab currently in progress with the Dental Hygiene students.

Course Dates: Offered throughout the Fall semester between August 25, 2025 and December 13, 2025 as needed per student.

Online: Self-paced modules to be completed during the semester dates above. (Must be completed prior to attending clinical portion.)

Clinical: To be scheduled with the instructor during the semester dates above at the NHTI campus, after completing the online portion.

CEUs: 6

Prerequisites and Required Documents: RDH or ADA Graduate Dental Assistant or Completion of POI and ICP courses.

Personal Protective Equipment: Students must provide their own PPE. This class requires a face mask and latex free gloves.
