Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) Certification Program (13643)

The LNA training program will prepare eligible candidates to practice as nursing assistants in providing direct patient care. The course will combine online class room, lab and clinical practice in simulation and/or an acute medical setting. At completion, students will be prepared to sit for the state certification examination and submit their Board of Nursing LNA license application.
The Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) program will consist of:
- 60 hours of online theory
- 60 hours of clinical
- 30 hours of laboratory
for a total of 150 hours of coursework.The didactic work is done through the Canvas online learning platform. Laboratory skills training is done in person at NHTI. Clinical is an in-person work format held at a facility partnered with NHTI. After successfully completing the LNA program, all students must register for the state competency written and clinical exam and complete a criminal background check/finger printing as part of the process to obtain their LNA license with the State of New Hampshire.This course is not part of the Nursing Program.
LNA Program Admission Eligibility and Submission Checklist
- Demonstrate the ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate in English, relative to job related assignments
- Minimum of 16 years of age; diploma or GED not required
- Have not been convicted of a felony
- Comply with NHTI’s application procedure
- Comply with NHTI’s tuition requirements
- Able to pass a drug screening

- Application for LNA Program Admission
- A copy of your resume
- Current BLS certification
- Criminal Background check: go to https://services.dos.nh.gov/chri/cpo scroll down and click the green button: “Online NH Criminal Background Check” ($25)
Following Application Review:
- Brief interview with the LNA Program Coordinator
Medical information required:
- 12 panel Drug Screen
- QuantiFERON blood test (a 2 step Tb tine can be substituted if BCG has not been received, or proof of a previous 2 step TB coupled with a current Tb tine test).
Registration:
Once all admission requirements are approved by the LNA Program Coordinator you will receive an email with registration instructions. By completing the registration process you agree to attend and comply with the tuition payment (includes tuition and books; supply fees are required as listed below).

- Secondhand Watch
- Stethoscope
- Scrubs - appropriately fitting and professional in appearance
PLEASE NOTE: You will not be officially registered and a seat will NOT be reserved for you until ALL pre-requisites and required documents have been received, reviewed, and approved.
When adding yourself to the ‘Wait List’, please add your payment method so we may finish enrolling you to the course once it has been determined that you have met all the prerequisites.
